From a yardage standpoint we have played the #14(ECU), #22(FSU), #30(NIU) and #36(Syracuse) offenses, CIncy was #80.

The rest of the way we have UConn (#105), Temple (#94), Navy (#84), Memphis (#42), SMU (#67) and UCF (#61). Not that we won't give up yards and points to some of these teams. Some fo these teams are ranked low for total offense because they do not run as many plays due to tempo.

Good post. I didn't realize how good some of the offenses were that we've played.

Good post.  At first I felt comforted by this.  But here's what's really going to bake your noodle...would ECU, FSU, NIU, and Syracuse have these offense rankings if they hadn't played us?

Too lazy to do the math.  But its still nice to see that we may have got past some of the most efficient offenses we will have to deal with.

Mixed bag. FSU got more yardage and points than their average against us. Everyone else we held below their points per game.

ECU averages 515 ypg and 28ppg we gave up 476 yards and 22 points

FSU averages 492 ypg and 37.8ppg we gave up 647 yards and 55 points (FSU season highs in both)

NIU averages 473ypg and 27ppg we gave up 318 yards and 17 points.

Syracuse averages 467 ypg and 25.7ppg we gave up 549 yards and 20 points.

Cincinnati averages 398ypg and 23ppg and we gave up 393 yards and 20 points.

Great info!

Keys against UCONN are get out fast and make someone besides Thomas and Newsome beat you.

UCONN hasn't scored at all in the first quarter all year long.  They seem to play better in the 2nd half.  If we can get out front and keep our foot on the gas we should be fine.

UCONN is prone to turnovers and Shirrefs seems to throw a lot of dumb INTS.  Get out front and force him into making mistakes is another key to he game.

If I was a betting man and there was one for whether they score the first qtr of our game, I'd be all over betting they will .... just seems to be how we roll sometimes.

UConn and Buffalo are the only two teams to not have scored in the first quarter.

Given how slow our defense starts out, what's the over on UConn's score total in the 1st quarter?

I'm saying they get 10 points early and break their streak before our D stiffens up

Our D should be stiff at the beginning,  but it needs to get lathered up I guess.

That's usually true of any college D.  Hopefully they wrap it up as well.

Wrapping up is always important especially in college.
