GAME DAY at Cincinnati

USF looks to bounce back from a 55-35 loss to No. 13 Florida State on Saturday that saw the Seminoles run for 478 yards and post 647 yards of total offense.  The Bulls offense remained prolific posting at least 35 points for the eighth straight game and more than 200 yards rushing for the ninth.

CONFERENCE OPENER: USF won its first two AAC openers before falling to Memphis in Tampa, 24-17, in last year’s opener. The Bulls defeated every team in the AAC East Division last season, including a 65-27 win over Cincinnati in which USF posted 561 yards of offense, including 361 rushing led by Marlon Mack’s 106 and 2 TD. USF has won its last 4 AAC games and 6 of its last 7. The Bulls lost, 34-17, at Cincinnati in 2014 in a game played at Paul Brown Stadium. The Bulls posted their only win at Cincinnati in 2010, 38-30.

ON THE ROAD: USF won 3 of 4 AAC road games last year, falling at Navy (29-17). USF is 3-0 in AAC road openers, winning twice at UConn (2013 & 2015) and once at Tulsa (2014).

USF OFFENSE ROLLING: USF is averaging 46.5 ppg over its last 8 games, a mark that ranks third in the nation behind Texas Tech (52.8 ppg) and Louisville (48.9 ppg). The Bulls have recorded nine straight games with 200+ yards rushing and 12 of their last 13. The Bulls offense is ranked 9th in the nation in scoring (46.0 ppg).

Hopefully some good news from here in Cinci. We walked by the room where they were doing taping and treatments and it was fairly empty. 

Temp is around 60 now, expected to go up to mid 60's. Overcast and some showers expected but hopefully rain will be done by game time.

Volleyball lost here yesterday. Soccer plays around 3 or 3:30.

Hopefully USF's game plan will be to win this game.  The game plan for FSU was not to win but try to make it respectable by playing a prevent defense the entire game.  I hope USF's defensive coaches understand the meaning of applying pressure on the offensive and not play on their heels.  My analysis is this will be a shootout and we will need to score at least 40 to win.  This could change if it rains all day and into the game.  I think we could win easily a rain game by running the rock.
