I see Cincy, Ucf, Navy as tough games. Defense wins championships...not offense. Only team we aren't designed to stop is Navy. All other teams we will destroy, including Memphis. Quote me on that. We were out manned and still put up 35 points on a horrible day. Who in the AAC is going to have Cook in the back field? Who is going to have a Fsu OLine? No one Can anyone match their defense...? No you say? So... how are these other teams going to beat us again? Only we can beat us, we have more talent and speed then all of them. Next real test is Houston who had equal talent like SU did. I know Offense will be good I don't have much faith in defense.

This team we have is the best in years. It's set up to contend for the conference championship, A SCHOOL FIRST. The team will rebound just like FSU did, so chillax. It's a pothole but the bus is still rumbling. Agreed...well stated! Lets focus on Cincy and take it to their house.

I think collectively our fan base is nervous about regressing to the Holtz and first 2 1/4 years of Taggart. The first quarter of Syracuse and then yesterday brought us back there and it is reinforced with every ugly pass from Flowers. Reality is we were not going undefeated this year. It was best to get beaten this way and now rather than feeling the pressure of going undefeated later on and the guys start pressing. Getting exposed on defense now makes the defensive coaches have to focus on fixing it.

Is the sky falling going to another mediocre bowl game and losing? Is the sky falling not winning a conference championship after all the hype? The sky is not falling but a few indicators seem to point of a higher likelihood of those things happening. They could still win a championship and go down as the first USF team to do so, but that defense is borderline Cosh. I wouldn't say they are full Cosh though because they do get to the ball and bounce off. You never go full Cosh.

I think the best we ever have done is our 1s matching up with the other teams 1s for a half, but depth always has been an issue when competing with the big boys. I'll grant the exception to WVU where we weren't getting mauled on the lines. Yesterday, we just got beat at just about every position but couldn't exploit the one match up in our favor which was our WRs against their DBs. True, well you have a different opinion than me. The team that beat FSU @ FSU in 2009 had like 14 NFL players just on defense. Sounds like pretty good depth to me. I think that team could "compete", not win, compete meaning put up a fight against just about any team other than maybe a handful of teams in the country that year. I also said just about anyone in the country, not everyone. Looks like I got way ahead of myself as I'm sure many more did. Because this kind of defense will get blown out by Houston. So if you are still hoping for a Conference Championship, then yes, the sky is falling if the offense is playing well, it'less of a factor.
