My wife ran a search on campus crime comparing USF, UCF, FSU, and UF. I don't remember if she included UM.

USF was the safest campus by far...   For what that's worth.

It was not for lack of trying.  Miami had no interest.  Rivalries develop organically.  You can't will it to be.  That is why the UCF "Cold War" rivalry has always been, it just happened over time despite everyone's best attempts to ignore it and pretend it was not real.

Close, but going up 4-0 when we were in a BCS conference and they weren't didn't really constitute a rivalry.  That's like saying we're rivals with UF and FSU.  It's a rivalry now only because we're on an equal playing field in the same conference, which certainly isn't by our design, but can be best summed by, "it is what it is."
