The WR screens are the plays I'm worried about.  I think FSU will be all over these and Willie runs about 5 of these per game.

Whenever we line up with 3 WRs in triangle formation on one side, you know we're running a screen.

Hopefully that's one of our "vanilla" plays and we'll figure out how to disguise it a little better.

I did Nova.  A proud graduate of SHS. A bit before 2001.

Before or after they installed the electricity?

That really is a setup play. if you remember last year we would run that play and then eventually would run a play where Flowers pump fakes and then one of the two blocking receivers goes deep down the sideline. it worked a few times where the defense bit and the guy was wide open. I think we might see that this week.

What is wrong with you people and posting all over the internet our favorite plays and the counters to those plays?

I'm all for it. The inside guy could slant as well and probably get open once he sheds his blocker.  I'll bet it works as we've only worked the screen with that formation so far, I believe.

You're right.  Forget game film and game simulations, Jimbo is probably perusing the message boards to solidify his strategy for Saturday.

As a fan there is something beautiful about that counter action coming and knowing that it will come. The set up. For 2016 (3 games) we have seen a handful of plays

Jet sweep (left and right)

Running back left

Running back right

QB up the middle

TE over the middle

3 cluster WR screen

Sideline bomb

We know they practice certain other plays off of these actions and formations, but my personal philosophy is not to express these until it is executed in game type of situations.

Kinda like Harbaugh not releasing his two deep. Everyone knows it, but its his juju.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
