Cinci is gave up 500 yards to a terrible Purdue team.  Good win... but they are the same defense as last season and I think their offense has regressed. I think we'r going to hang 40 plus on them.

I hope they continue to be mistake prone..

We scored 45 points and had 540 total yards last year against them.  Their so-called defense just gave up about 900 yards.  Plus our speed plays faster on the turf up there.  Even the most pessimistic Bulls fan has to think we are gonna score a ton of points next week.

Historically Syracuse has sucked against us. They've always had a tough time matching up with our speed and overall athleticism. I think this game won't be any different. After watching how Louisville abused them with their superior size, strength and speed, I have no doubt we will have plenty of chances to use our advantages against them. Their CB's can easily be burned and we have the WR to get behind them. Flowers while he struggles at short stuff, he can hit the long ball very well. I expect a few 30+ throws for him next week. I'm confident we will be 3-0 heading into FSU and be on the cusp of T25 ranking.

Cuse will be tough for about a quarter and a half if that. The guys just need to bring it and we are good. It will be nice to see our secondary get some good work next game. We will need it heading into conference play.

The way I see it the the Syracuse game is actually one of the most important games in our history.

It sounds funny but the optics of two 3-0 teams battling it out in front of a packed house is much more impressive than if we have a loss (or they do).

If we are 3-0 the house will be packed and crowd, though divided, will be large and loud.  It really doesn't matter if we beat FSU (although it would be great) as long as its well attended and competitive.

This is exactly what we want and it is coming at perhaps the best possible time.

So we don't need to look ahead at FSU, that game will take care of itself.  Beating Syracuse is the most important thing right now.

It sets the stage.

I it Actually Really DOES matter if we beat FSU.  It would be a huge deal, especially at this point in time.

There is no guarantee that FSU is going to be 3-0, I think Louisville is going to give them a fit.

Yes.

I also think it does matter.  So far there's really only a (ranked) Temple win to hang the legacy on in the current era.  Getting back to a bowl game is nice too, but still.

Better a crossroad than an exit ramp.

I doubt that the decision to show up, and thus pack the stadium for FSU,  hinges on how well we do against 'Cuse. It still looks good to have two 3-0 teams going at it. I wouldn't want the announcers to bring up 'the loss last week against Syracuse'. Though I can't say the same about trotting out "that loss last week against Louisville". Just being brutally honest.

It would be great but that misses the point.   We will win in the game like the WVU games of old.

I don't think the Cuse game will be that tough.  I don't think last season was a fluke.  Now they have no defense.  I also don't think the guys are looking past Syracuse.  I've seen both of Syracuse games and they don't match up well at all with our speed and size.  Plug in new system on offense, I see the game going much like it did last season.  Coach Woodie has the defense playing at a high level and the offense is getting better (which is crazy). I think we'll win by 20 plus.  I don't see how anyone thinks this game will be close to be honest.  Cuse has  a lot of issues.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
