Beyond every team we have played so far scoring more points than us, what is happening???

Conference play is going to be brutal if Coach O does not get it together.

Here's the answers you'll get:

COA is terrible and should have never been hired in the first place

We have injuries

We still don't have the players we need

We are young

We are still trying to gel

You misunderstood my question.  I was asking about our basketball team, not excuses that UCF fans are providing for the condition of their football program.

What's wrong with them? Here is what I've noticed: the backcourt is making TONS of mental errors that manifest themselves in the form of turnovers, lazy passes and blown defensive assignments/rotations. Couple that with our inability to shoot from beyond 12 feet, and you get the results that we have. The mental errors can and should be fixed but the outside shooting woes may plague this team for the entire season.

Yup, too many turnovers. We have been pathetic playing perimeter defense, or any defense for that matter. I like McMurray, as I see there's potential there, but the kid is only a freshman and appears to be super streaky from beyond the arc. I haven't been all that impressed with Peters' play, although I've heard scuttlebutt that he may be playing injured. Our frontcourt hasn't been playing consistently, as we should have been able to use them to pummel our smaller competition into submission. This team actually has some pieces, I just don't anticipate them coming together until next year. They need to learn to play team defense this season though.

The teams problems are pretty simple. 1) lack of a leader on he court/no one to take the big shots; 2) lots of turnovers; 3) lack of depth- playing 7 guys won't cut it; 4) no perimeter game

without digging too far into things those are the reason we are bad right now. I think Coach O will get things straightened out, but it will take more than 1 or 2 decent players to get things turned around. Next season guys become eligible, we get Holston back, and the new signees join us the fold. Until then I don't think we will win many games. I was optimistic before we started playing and thought we would more than 12, but now I think we will be lucky to get 4.

Patience, everybody. It's going to take time.

Don't you have to be a Ghostbuster to do that?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
