Regarding Temple:

 

"I think they came out a little flat last week and it cost them a game against USF."... "I think Temple just laid an egg last week"

A little flat? An egg? Even the final score, 44-23 is not a 'little flat". That is a 3 possession loss. A little flat is just not an appropriate to say that is what cost them the game, basically saying they should have won.

 

Shows that the opinion of USF is still the of an automatic win for good teams. We see a difference since we watch every game, but it will take winning the conference and another season to change perception. If we win the conference the perception will be that the American is a weak conference, not that USF is a good team.

haha, and if that weren't enough we powned Cincy to follow it up. We're real enough, but you can hardly fault the media for being a little hesitant to jump on the bus with us. I thought the announcers at our game and the ECU/UCF game were plenty clear on whether we're "real".

I just saw that.  I didn't take it as disrespect because remember Temple did look pretty good early in the year and we totally didn't.  I think if ESPN hypes you up, they also put it in the context of "you failed" if you don't deliver.

USF really has to earn it again if they want the ESPN hype.  Closing out the season with championships would really help for next year

Although I like Herbstreit he has never believed we were for real. Even when we were on our run in 2007 he laughed at us and thought when we won we were a fluke each week. 

I did like the announcers last night  they have done several of our games and throughout the season they kept saying we were a team to be reckoned with.  Chavous has seen our development all year  i trust his judgement more than Herbstreit who probably just looks at the preseason ranking and then the box scores and a few highlights each week
