Maryland changed QBs.  From a guy that could run but not throw well.  To another guy that can throw but isn't known for excellent decision making.

Guy threw three picks, and 4TDs.  And Maryland destroyed us.

I think there is a lesson there...

Flowers can only hit wide open men because the only pass plays called for him are bubble screens and streaks down the field. If they gave him some more intermediate crossing routes, or rollout throws he would probably be a lot better passing. Bench has had 5 years to become a starter here and at penn state, and he hasn't earned anything. I think that should stand for itself.

Go back if you can to the FAMU game and you will see how the O play calling changes substantially with Bench in there. In fact in the drive Bench was thrown into yesterday the play calling changed quite a bit for one drive. As soon as QF was put back in it was more of the same. Its not bc the plays aren't in the playbook its because those are the plays QF is able to run which are limited unfortunately...

I'll bet some of them are even the same plays.  But QF looks to one sideline or the other, nothing there he tucks and runs.  Bench sees guys in the middle of the field.   Same plays, different offense.

You guys are a broken record.

Can't wait until AW struggles next season and you call for Kean.

double post, but the lesson is that our defense isn't what we thought it was.

There are no numbers that show Bench being a good QB.

He has had plenty of opportunities.

There are plenty showing he could be servicable and that is what we need.

What do you suggest we do?

When??? Please tell me when he has had the majority of the first team trap consistently

You could tell he was the better QB against FAMU.

Also seems to have done better against MD even though he did not get any full first team reps last year for that game or prior too...

Rowe is also way better than Bench, there really isn't a comparison there.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
