Bench or Flowers for the 2nd half?

Flowers has the arm power and is great at taking heat off short passes, just needs to work on intermediate passing game.

He is better than last year..he couldn't score vs smu.

All I can hope for is continuing improvement.

It's crazy, we finally get mediocre play at the QB position and we are crying it wasn't good enough.

I was told on this board that USF fans would kill for mediocre QB play. Apparently, that's not the case.

"average" is good enough for most teams on our schedule as long as we have a good defense. However, today, we needed something better than average, which Flowers isn't. If we had even a remotely competent thrower, we could've won that game.

 

Flowers is an athlete attempting to play QB. He isn't an athlete that CAN play QB.

Flowers. Because his mobility and atrocious throwing is making FSU get lazy and leave a man wide open every now and then.

Not sure if serious but I think you are 100% right. Flowers was bad today, not just kind of bad, but bad. Two of his lazy passes should have been intercepted. The stats will lie when you look at them. The young man puts too much air under all of his throws and does not possess the ability to put velocity on a throw when needed. We will get lucky from time to time due to his ability to extend plays and hitting an open receiver.

As the announcers stated several times, he is a running back that throws sometimes.

Really bad, really??? And you're going to say that his stats are lying do there is no way to argue with you... Ridiculous

 

He had 34 yards after 3 quarters.  That is HORRIBLE.  FSU blew coverage on the wheel route to Johnson for the 71 yd TD...YOU could have made that throw.  That said, QF did sell the fake and DID make the throw...that does count.

 

Most of us "experts" likely would have put in Bench to start the 4th...just before that long TD.  You just never know.

 

I was hoping to see Bench for the last series, as down 2 TDs, we were dead.  Why not let Bench play.
