i think he is gone unless he wins the division

getting to a bowl game is no great accomplishment

i wouldnt keep him if he goes 6-6

Who cares what you'd do?  From what I get all you want is USF to fail.

I think CWT would keep his job another year if he goes 5-7. Just like 4-8 was just enough last year.

If he needs better than 6-6 then Harlan might as well fire him right now.

Plenty of teams had good QBs and still didn't perform.

So, I would say just that. "What if?"

Another:

Willie Taggart, South Florida

Prior to Taggart’s first season at USF in 2014, a school marketing campaign implored Bulls’ fans to “get on the bus” with their new coach. That bus is pretty empty after two seasons of Taggart’s reign. The coach is 6—18 in Tampa, though he improved from his first season (2—10) to his second (4—8). He also hasn’t won more than three American Athletic Conference games in a season. Taggart fired both his coordinators after last season and spent much of the spring installing an up-tempo attack. But with only eight total returning starters against rising programs like Cincinnati, Temple and East Carolina in the AAC East, Taggart faces an unenviable situation in his third year in town.

I hope we get to at least .500 this year.

I don't have any reason to believe this team can get to .500. They still don't have a quarterback and the move to a style of offense outside of his comfort zone smells of desperation. If the team was going to go over this type of makeover (two new systems and two new coordinators) they should have just blown out the coach.

And as many have pointed out no matter how good of a recruiter he is it won't matter if he can't coach them up. And let's be honest these aren't recruiting classes that are significantly ahead of the rest of the conference. To make up for his inability to develop players, CWT needs to get Top 20 recruiting classes year in and year out to win here.

Considering how bad our conference is, that we've brought in 3 straight good recruiting classes (based off our conference), and our team is getting older there are plenty of reasons to think we could get to .500. I don't trust Taggart to be a good coach, but it wouldn't take a master mind to find a way to beat 5 G5 teams after FAMU this year.

I think the change in offense was more of a smart move than desperation. Desperation may have brought the change, but after seeing what his scheme has produced the first 2 years I would label the move as smart.
