His primary role is assisting his former college coach, Jim Leavitt, with the linebackers along with general overall duties with the entire defense. McKenzie, 29, is in his first coaching role after retiring from professional football. He was selected by New England in the third round of the 2009 National Football League Draft out of South Florida, where he completed his career as a first-team All-Big East performer at linebacker. I always thought that it was huge that he transferred and got to play right away. I do believe of all transfers, he had the most immediate impact to date. Good luck to both of them!
