Wasn't White All-State, Mr. Football, etc,?

Give me another Grothe, with minimal talent and a TON of heart any day. IF any of the guys on the roster now and/or committed play with anywhere near the grit and determination that Matt and BJ played with, we'll be bowling every year.

I don't know if White was even All-County.

I am excited that 1 of 3 prospects actually look quite promising for the bulls by 2017. I think 2016 will be a good year but man 2017 That should be an impressive team when the pieces are really gelling.

He more than paid his dues here. He saw the writing on the wall when Coach WT passed over him to be an assistant coach

 

I can't blame him for looking at opportunities elsewhere.

 

BTW, Coach WT wouldn't give Grothe a position on his staff.

Let me make this simple.

 

4 very good to great QB's: Chad Barnhardt, Marquel Blackwell, Matt Grothe, and BJ Daniels (in order of when they played).

 

Then there are some not so great QB's: everyone else. (with an apology to Pat Julmiste who was a warrior out there, and forever earned a special place in USF history coming up so big when USF won at TCU in overtime)

Mike is right, those are the only ones worth mentioning in the good category. Gregory is probably the best backup we've had for an entire season.  I'm not putting BJ in that category since he started the majority of his Freshman season.  Every other QB has just been a potential guy.

My biggest letdown? Carlton Hill. Man, I was so excited about him.

 

 

And then what about Courtney Denson?

 

Let’s not forget Evan Kraky who was a big letdown.  He came to USF in 2003 throwing the most yards in Pennsylvania H.S. history at that time.  Good size, good speed, etc.  Then, never saw the playing field here and finally transferred out to somewhere.

 

Ah, the legend of Evan Kraky. I'm glad it didn't take too long for someone on here to remeber this kid.
