Anybody know anything about why he’s transferring?

IDK but for now we can speculate.  During the season McGhee was getting the most burn at S along with Jaymon Thomas so the safety positions were locked up for '18.  At CB we got Mazzi, Hoggins, Hampton and Even Naytron were playing more.  So im guessing he couldn't crack the Starting line up and he wanted out.

Does this somehow open another roster spot for a commit or are we still facing the 25 a year rule?

It would effect the total number of scholarships available, but not the rule about 25 new scholarships per year. So we could give that open one to a walk-on if we wanted to.

Shame, I wish him the best of luck somewhere else.   It goes to the point that a 4-star is not always as good as a 3-star.

But it's statistically a way better bet that he will be.

When Taggs was here, all I kept hearing were good things about Watts and even in spring practice it seemed like he was going to be the next big thing in the secondary...I wonder what happened?

Taggart must have run over his foot on the way out of town.

I think it is a qualitative assessment which is in the eye of the beholder.
