Wasn't any fault of USF's for not hiring him. Steve messed up his own chance by lying on his resume.

Looks like he's set to go this time, no way he stays there after this season and a second trip to the dance.

It's too bad he couldn't just finish the small amount of course work he needed to while at USF.

I'm sure that wouldn't have been a problem, if he had stated such on his resume.

I have high doubts he would have had USF dancing anyways, who knows if defections happen or not (probably some still would). And who knows if he somehow had gotten USF turned around to get some miracle dance bid, if he would stick around longer than a year or two before running off to an ACC or Big Ten job or something?

He wouldn't have had us dancing this year. That Manhatten team was already his, he just returned to it, it wasn't his first season there. It would take a few years to build up here as well as it'll take COA the same few years to be in that position.

This doesn't belong here. He was never the USF head coach. He was given a conditional offer, and his hiring was contigent on his qualifications, which he failed to comply with. Lets move this.

He was NEVER a USF coach.

So, do yourself a favor and stop posting asinine comments that make you look stupid.

I think Orlando fits well here with our large hispanic population and pipeline as well as the Kentucky connection. I know Massiello had the kentucky connection as well but we dont know what kind of recruiting he was capable of.  USF or Florida in general is not a basketball destination.

Moot point. Florida public universities require their coaches to have a degree. So we'd have had to hire him contingent on his completing his degree before the season started.
