Loyalty is great but I would think that he would be getting tired of riding the pine while other teams want him on their active.

Also, I am proud of Barrington tonight. Go Bulls!

Um, I hate to rain on your parade. But he's spent two years on the practice squad. If any other NFL team wanted him on their active roster they could have signed him at almost any point in the last two years. This week he was promoted from the practice squad to the 53 man roster, meaning he was there all season and no one else wanted to sign him to their 53 man roster.

The article that was referred to and linked earlier ... http://seattletimes.com/html/seahawks/2025481357_seahawksdaniels17xml.html

A few weeks ago, though, the Seahawks almost lost Daniels as a few other teams sent feelers his way. Players can be signed to active rosters off practice squads at any time.

“There were other teams trying to tug at me and pull me out the back door,’’ he said.

Daniels said it was initially tempting to move to a team that wanted him on its active roster.

“Your goal isn’t to make the NFL, it’s to play in the NFL, so yeah, it was at first,’’ he said.

Seattle, though, then took the somewhat rare — and perfectly legal — step of raising Daniels’ salary from the practice squad rate (the minimum is $6,300 a week) to an active roster rate (roughly $30,000 a week) to convince him to stay.

I had no idea that it was at the players discretion to leave the practice squad if another team came calling.

Yes, it's up to the player. Handful of guys get paid the active roster salary.

Wouldn't surprise me if Arizona was a team offering, which gives Seattle plenty of reason for the raise.

Most likely, or some other team that was about to play against Seattle.

Yeah or any possible playoff team in the NFC. Unless they value him more than I figure.

Arizona just stood out because it looked like Mike White may be an upgrade from what they threw out there after Stanton went down

Depending on who the other teams were and when the offers came, he could have made more money if he had jumped ship .... but if it wasn't to another playoff team, he definitely made the right decision financially.

I'm also assuming he was told he'd be the #2 next year. If I remember Jackson was a one year deal. And he's played fantastic is preseason games. Surprisingly good.

Tim Tebow was starting QB for a playoff team in 2011 and out the league in 2013.  BJ hasn't been promised anything for next year, except an opportunity to compete for a spot on the 53 man roster.

After Lynch score the go-ahead TD in the 4th, TV close up on BJ Daniels administering a celebratory handshake. I could spot that neck beard from a mile away.

http://sports.yahoo.com/video/nfc-championship-green-bay-packers-001758057.html there's the link, aforementioned BJ Daniels spotting @ 9:18

Great for him to get called up from practice squad, and great for Bulls Nation to get some pro representation!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"I wish you guys could be in the locker room and be on the practice field because it is so much different from what it has been in the past."
