Both UCF and USF need another 10 years of successful football history before we get a Power 5 invite: http://www.sportstalkflorida.com/four-reasons-ucf-will-not-join-the-big-12/ That was an interesting article. 'deed it was. Something for USF fans to take note of Step #1 for making yourself look worthy to the Power 5 – Big 12 or otherwise – starts with the fans showing up. To everything. That means every football game, basketball game, baseball game, softball game and volleyball match, regardless of time of day or outside conditions. It also means tuning in on TV to bump up our ratings and sell some sneakers and beer. Show up regardless of W/L record. or opponent or STFU. They could have the new 4 split the 50 and they would take $200 million and split that exactly how they have it now thus they don't lose any $$$$ and they get a conference title game which could lead to a national championship

Especially with the BIG 12 as they are not proactive enough. Hope Harlan convinces the Texas AD to go to the PAC 12. Afterall, the new TEXAS AD is from the PAC12 so hopefully he convinces to leave the BIG 12 to open up a spot for USF to join BIG

One of the reasons Miami, VaTech and BC left the Big East for the ACC was the Big East's reluctance to expand. Indirectly, that ultimately lead to the death of Big East football. Had those three stayed and the Big East still added the teams it did, it would probably be one of the power conferences.

Had those three stayed and the Big East still added the teams it did, it would probably be one of the power conferences. That, or the fact that the basketball teams had too much power How enormously huge would the Big East have to be to be a credible football conference, given that the conference included about seven or so schools that didn't field a football team? The Big East's identity was always about basketball, and schools want to park all of their teams in one conference, so the Big East would never have expanded for the sake of football. The Big East is perfectly happy being a basketball conference first and foremost. I'm guessin' BC, VaTech & The U wanted to capitalize more on the FBS opportunities which were not available, and would never be available, in the Big East.
