I think we will know who's doing what with our football program when the new OC is hired.

(1) If it's just a 'yes' person ($1.99 OC from out of nowhere), then that means CWT did the changes himself (that he's still running the show). And he thinks that he possesses the offensive knowledge to implement a spread offense without serious help. "Things are fine, if the kids would just do what I tell them!" Besides, CWT already did this after his first year with a new OC, and OL coach.

(2) If we see a name-brand OC that's going to earn his keep, this will mean that our new AD had a hand in this.

I'm hoping and praying for option 2, because we desperately need fresh blood with the offense.

Or option (3)

He hires Kinnan, who runs a spread offense, and Kinnan has total control over it since CWT has no idea how to run the spread. Which would mean that CWT made the hire, but Harlan told him to change the offense.

Or option 4. Harlan said I dont care how you do it, just win or you won't be HC for long...now go fix the football situation.

Whats a book??

archaic method of information storage and dissemination.

went extinct about the same time as this did...

The-grim-70s-and-Meat-Loaf-combo.jpg

Does that cook the meat loaf in that container?

We're not sure. We think it had something to do with processing information on tape. The information might have been food. None have lived to tell the tale, unfortunately.

I lived through that ancient era.  Doors, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf...... ahhhh those were the days my friends.

Some of my favorite non-memories were concerts at the old Sombrero, the Men's Garden Club (now the Moffitt Cancer Center), Homer Hesterley. Curtis Hixon, the fairgrounds, and the Lakeland Civic Center. At least I think I remember being there...

I was there. Most awesome concert I saw:

Momentary Lapse of Reason tour.

I had already left Tampa by then - saw that one in Rupp Arena.

Awesome concert with an amazing laser show

Edit: someone posted the Philly show and a Swiss show

True. But pretty good guess he was forced into it. This is the problem with college football today. Too much pressure to win yesterday. The $ from tv has ruined everything. Used to be presidents had nothing to do with athletic departments. Now very involved. Just brings in too much money to ignore in this day and age. However, that is not the case at USF. Anyway, I say all for one and one for all. If I have to fire coaches, then you should fire me right now. Desperate times indeed in Tampa.

Let's play this out to the end of next year. Offense changes and team still sucks.

Harlan to Tags "You're fired".

Tags, "Why, you told me who to hire and what type of offense to run, shouldn't you quit?"

Very dangerous for the AD to get involved in coaching, unless he wants to be the head coach. It is just as possible, as others have suggested, that Tags did this on his own trying to save his job.

Harlan "Coach, 2014 wasn't a very good year".

Tags, "But Mr AD, it was only the offense and defense that stunk. I've fired both of those coordinators".

Harlan, "OK, you get to keep your job but we better be in the National Championship game or that guy on the Board of Trustees will make me fire you."

CR, do you envision Taggart ever clearing the air on who made these decisions and why?

Im no insider, but im starting to believe taggart did this himself to save his job.

Pretty sure it went down like this....

CWT   :  {show's up in Harlan's office wearing the "blue collar" shirt}

Harlan:  <STARE>

CWT   :  <blank stare>

CWT   : Uuhhh, Mr. Harlan is there something wrong ?

Harlan:  This is a mess

CWT  :  The "Stanford" offense was all Wuff's idea

Harlan:  You say what ?

CWT  :   Yeah, I'm firing him....that offense sucks

Harlan:  I thought......the offense was your idea

CWT  :   Uuhhhh, good point can I get back to  you

Harlan:  No, dammit.....just make a game time decision

CWT  :  Time out.

Harlan:  WTF

CWT  :  I have 3 left don't I ?

Harlan:  Are you serious ?

CWT  :  <blank stare>

CWT  :  Ummm, I'm switching to the spread....is that good enough ?

Harlan:  <smurk>

CWT  :  <blank stare>

CWT  :  Oh yeah, I think I'm going to fire the DC

Harlan:  <puzzled look>

CWT  :  <blank look>

CWT  :   ....and DB coach also !

Harlan:   Your doing what ?

Harlan:   What's your plan ?

CWT  :   I'm going to bring in some of my old coaches/friends who know what they're doing

Harlan:  You really are clueless

CWT  :  <blank stare>

CWT  :  Are we done ?

Harlan:  GTF out of here

CWT  :  Come on Harley......"I DID SOMETHING" !

Harlan:  <eye roll>

CWT  :  Did I do something wrong

Harlan:  <walks away shaking his head>
