Did Captain Ahab give up the white whale?

I take it you didn't finish that book.

I didn't either. Did he?

Cruelest thing I ever did to our daughter was to make her read that book one summer.  She challenged me to read it when she was done.  Hardest book ever to get through.  Worse than War and Peace. Edit: referring to difficulty of understanding the old language.

Never will give the old (and may I say the correct) way of reading.

It's a very fitting metaphor, just not for BasketBull's argument.

The white whale killed Ahab. Left alone, CWT would have taken USF football down with him and his power football. This was my point.

Spoiler much?

You think that was bad? Try reading Canterbury Tales. Major ouch!

We're not sure. We think it had something to do with processing information on tape. The information might have been food. None have lived to tell the tale, unfortunately.

He left quite a bit out.

If that scenario had played out, who would our Ishmael have been?

I lived through that ancient era.  Doors, Iron Butterfly, Steppenwolf...... ahhhh those were the days my friends.

Some of my favorite non-memories were concerts at the old Sombrero, the Men's Garden Club (now the Moffitt Cancer Center), Homer Hesterley. Curtis Hixon, the fairgrounds, and the Lakeland Civic Center. At least I think I remember being there...

Does anybody know if our new AD has a lot of friends in high places (such as p5 school presidents and the like)?

We could sure use some connections right about now.
