With UAB shutting down Football, does anybody know if they have any players at all we could use to improve our program? 

 

I understand UAB is no powerhouse, but maybe, just maybe we could offer the 1 or 2 decent players they had. 

 

They will be allowed to transfer and play immediately.

 

We need all the help we can get!

it was dumb to start a  program at uab to begin with   i dont think the crimson tide is concerned with uab

Their head coach did a nice job at turning that UAB program around in short time.

Yup, came from Jacksonville State, a good FCS team, and whom had an upset of one of the Mississippi schools.

Also, **** Alabama for forcing this on UAB.

They have a great sophomore running back worth going after. Also, their return man is Playstation worthy with four TDs on kick returns.

Would we really want to go after him? Not saying he's not a good coach, he very well may be a home run but he's had 1 year in FCS and 1 year in FBS. We've already tried the up and coming G5 coach route. I thought the prevailing notion was go after a successful P5 coordinator or poach a proven, top-notch G5 HC.

Worse than that. Eleven teams have joined FBS in the last ten years: FAU, FIU, WKU, UMass, USA, TSU, UTSA, GSU (Ga St), ASU, GSU (Ga So), ODU, and Charlotte set to join next year I believe.

Not sure how many remember this, but UAB was program that many people felt USF should model themselves after...if the losses and fan apathy continue to mount and the dollars continue to dwindle, we may end up modeling them after all.
