Q Flowers should never have been in this game from the beginning. I will say that I took no issue with CWT starting him last week. His RS was already burnt and we don't have much to lose.

His redshirt should NEVER have been burned. At the QB position, I don't think we'd see an effective player until his RS Soph year. In those two years he could have refined his passing capability.

At a skill position he's ready to play as a freshman.

CWT was looking for a spark.  He thought Flowers could provide it.  All of you that are getting on to him for starting the different QBs and saying he can't evaluate, practice performance and game performance are often times different.  Additionally, this is the hand he has, he has to play one of them and he's trying to find the one that will take charge.  I think White did a lot with the comeback, but he has to keep that focus and not have a repeat of his last start.

The only successful offense in recent memory using this Stanford West Coast style scheme was led by Andrew Luck at QB. We don't have an Andrew Luck on the roster unfortunately. Taggart needs to adjust the scheme based on the players that he has. Get the ball into the hands of Davis, Mack and Johnson in space. Use Flowers in a wildcat type set. Do something besides the same things over and over that aren't working because we don't have the players to execute them. If we are playing any other team besides SMU we are coming away with a loss last Saturday. Are you telling me with the top AAC recruiting class last year and a good class the year before that we are at an SMU level in talent? I don't buy it.

For all of you that said, "Start Flowers, how much worse can it get?"  I think you found out.  I understand why CWT started him.  He's looking for one of the QBs to step up an perform consistently and thought, "It's SMU, we can run all over them."  The problem is, if you can't throw at all, then the D can put 8 or 9 in the box, making it extremely difficult to run.

I, personally, hope we never see Flowers at QB again.

If what someone on this board said before that he had 16 plays on his wristband that we could run then shame on Taggart. That is a joke. If that's all you can run I don't care who you're playing you cannot start him. I was glad he decided to start him to see what he could do, but goodness if I had known that was the case I never would've felt that way. Just another red flag when talking about Taggart's coaching.

Well, considering we all actually don't know if that is actually true or not, then it's a moot point.

I'm not so sure it is difficult to prove if we can get video of the game.  Some video expert or another around here can probably zero in on the wristbands and we can compare.

But the source definitely has access to a lot more info than we do, and has been accurate in the past.

How many do Bench and White have on their wristbands?

Not a clue. You're the man though!!!!

Someone in another thread, I believe it was cousin ricky (I think that's his user name) mentioned that. I would assume he's not just throwing that out there for fun?? He had to of seen that or heard it from someone. If you want to be a sarcastic ___ then why don't you ask him the question. I'm not saying it's the case or what he said is for sure correct. I said IF that was the case then it was a very, very poor decision on Taggart's part.

Cousin Ricky has access that most of us dream of having.  I see no reason for him to make stuff up.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
