Changes from last year are we had 2 worse teams on the schedule in Tulsa and West Carolina. We traded a win over a good Cincinnati team last year for a win over the worst FBS team in the past decade where we needed 2 4th down conversions and a blatant OPI on the final play to win. Taggart is very fortunate to get 4 wins this year. To those that think we have a chance against Memphis or UCF, it will take about 5 turnovers to level the playing field in those games. So yes there is a chance.

we should have won ZERO games last season but got EXTREMELY lucky bounces in two games.  It's funny how wins are wins are only broken down when it suites peoples arguments.  We've won four games in which we actually scored offensive touchdowns, how many offensive touchdowns did we score in our wins last season? Neither Memphis and UCF aren't UCF or Bama so there is a chance to win those games.  Especially UCF as it's a rivalry game and their QB has the propensity to be a turnover machine at times.

The team is clearly regressing from last season to this season. Look at how we played Cincinnati, Houston, and UConn last season to this season. Remember we were right in the games against Memphis and UCF last year. Anyone have confidence of similar outcomes this year? I don't. Our offense has moved from 123rd last year to 120th this year. Our defense has moved from 74th last year to 75th this year. We have played a weaker schedule this year. How can we have any expectations for next year? I don't see an impact player coming in to turn the tide.

Same argument could be made that we should have won zero this year. It took miraculous comebacks to beat 2 of the 5 worst teams in FBS and we beat another at home by 3. We were trailing at the half against our FCS cupcake.

100% improvement over LY with two to play.

Record is better,I guess that is improvement.

On field play, as a team, is not better. Attendance and fan interest is rapidly declining.

I would say program is in worse shape than at the beginning of the year.

It actually is...

The 2014 USF team would BEAT the 2013 USF team... Especially across most stats.

Big picture is that the program appears to be in worse shape.

The defense is is worse and the interest in the program is at an all time low.

^^ Agree with Bull Dozer. I don't see how anyone, having sat through last season, could make the conclusion that we're actually worse than that team. We'd have easily lost both the Tulsa and SMU game with that team IMO, they weren't good for comebacks.

we are better this year and younger than last year...we will go to a bowl game next year if we can get to 60% completion rate, its that simple
