i didn't know LaTech was a rebuild....didn't they have a winning record when skip got there?

edit: they were 9-3 the season before he got there.

why did they have to rebuild? because of the coaching hire?

Yes. And they lost 18 starters from that team when Dykes left.

fair enough

I only know that because I posted this the last time someone asked the question.

what is the obsessionholtz here

he failed

let's move on

As with the Jim, some continue playing the "I told you so" game because they are still upset at the firing.

For the record, though, this thread with Holtz in the title wasn't started by one of them.

HOLTZ is doing great at LA Tech this season

They can win the conference.

SKIP can only win in week conferences. BE was too competitive for him.

Some conferences play monthly?

Every team every where in FBS loses 17 to 25 "students" every season.

Taking over a team that won 9 games is not a rebuild. The foundation is there.

I'm not trying to convince you it's a rebuild. I have no skin in the game one way or the other. It's just a fact that LA Tech lost 30 players, 18 of them starters, from the Dykes team that won 9 games the previous season. You are free to call his 3 year tenure (5-7, 8-5, 9-3) a foundation that did not require a rebuild.

That woefully simplistic wackadoodle post screamed out for a response and that was the most benign one I could muster up ...

Reminds me of the old cliche about some programs being able to just reload when losing a huge portion of their starters (over 3/4 in this case) after good to great seasons and some having to rebuild. To me, I'd put LaTech on the "Rebuild" side of the ledger. What separates programs like that from the continuously successful is consistent depth ...

Might be true. And so far it's seems true of Taggart.
