does the team pass the eyeball test? They look almost exactly the same from last year. Maybe better at the RB, but our line is worse it seems. Also our D seems to be a little worse than last year.

Better in some areas, worse in others, last year we could not even lineup correctly, so yes we have improved.

There are a lot of freshmen, red shirt freshmen and sophomores in the 2 deep

Throw that Cincy tape away.  YES! The team has improved. Young players getting tons of playing time and learning to make plays. Hoping they show more consistancy next season. I see a 4 to 6 win season this year now. Have to beat SMU. Houston, UCF,  and Memphis will be tough but we can sneak a win in there.

I actually think the o-line is better. Last yr, Mack would have had no chance to score. Last yr our QBs were under constant pressure every snap and too many penalties. We needed to run the ball last night and have good QB play to have a chance. We got neither. I swear it seems like coaches play the chess game too much in strategizing...ie - Cinci thinks we're gonna run it so lets throw it all over the place. Which might have worked if our QB didn't poop all over himself.

The point about the QB in college fb is true. If you don't have one, you lose. Ask a gator fan the next time you see one on the street.

Yes the team has improved, but Cincy is clearly heads and shoulders better than us.  We've got at least one and possibly two more wins on the schedule.  So, we're looking at 4-8 or 5-7 vs last years disastrous 2-10.  Maybe we'll get lucky and someone else will stroke out and we can get three more wins, but after yesterday I'm not so sure.

Progress isn't a straight line.  There are peaks and valleys.
