Bulls name three captains for season

 

TAMPA — South Florida, in a vote by the players, on Saturday named WR Andre Davis, LB Reshard Cliett and PK Marvin Kloss as team captains for this season.

 

“It says a lot because we as coaches don’t have any influence over who gets picked,’’ Bulls coach Willie Taggart said. “That’s the best award you can get. It’s an awesome responsibility to lead a team and you don’t get that (opportunity) often. You’ve got to take advantage of it.’’

 

Each captain expressed pride and happiness over the vote. Cliett said he was surprised.

 

“I didn’t expect it, but it’s great,’’ Cliett said. “I guess they believe in me. Now it’s up to me to help lead the team and do all the right things.’’

I wonder how many Kickers can say they became a team captain for their college football team.  I can't imagine that list is very long.  He's earned it though.

I don't know if I should read into the fact that no QB was selected. But one thing to remember is that anyone on this team can be a leader and I hope there are plenty of those out there.
