Re-watched Remember The Titans last night, to get in a football mood.

Boone had a simple offense, easy to install in a new place. #jussayin

One season just isn't enough for me to see if a culture shift is taking place with our football team. I know the coaches and even the new AD are talking in a way that it sounds like it is. This season will go a long way to showing me, as a booster, alumnus, and all-around USF nut, whether CWT is taking us away from that Holtzian morass that our team got sucked into.

Holtz signing was only bad in hindsight. BCS programs wanted him and he won conference championships.

Holts was an atrocious recruiter and was lost on gameday.

Willie has done a great deal to make it appear as if we are back on track. However, the only thing I care about is winning. I don't care what system, I dont care what philosophy I just want to win a conference title and play in the best bowl games possible.

Thank god we've got our **** together on game days now. I'd hate to see a bunch of idiotic penalties, poor execution, and poor results like we used to see.

What you will see this year is a drastic improvement in offense.   Our O-line will be able to protect and help create a running game.  I think our defense will be less than last year but again that really comes down to our defensive coordinator does in getting the best out of our players.  Basically putting them in a place where they will be the most successful.

So you're saying a good coach molds his system to maximize the players on hand? Interesting.

A good coach builds success, whether he molds his system to players on hand, or molds the players to his system

Big diff between high school & college. We'd have done better with "simple" for a while, but I doubt the W-L would have been much different in the end. Maybe we'd have beaten McNeese, though...sigh.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
