Smart move by the Power 5. If they don't schedule the middle-to-upper tier Group of 5 teams then there is no way that a Go5 team can make the playoffs.

This is what Boise had to deal with, and why they were always knocked for poor SOS. But how can you get a strong OOC SOS when nobody will play you?

 

That's some Catch, that Catch-22. The best there is...

Exactly my thoughts. Boise would've made the Playoffs in the past. But take their one big OOC game out and they wouldn't be in the top 5, maybe not top 10.

If teams with any reasonable expectation of future success don't play any real p5 teams there's no argument to make the Playoffs.

They're actively trying to keep us out now.
