The thing I'm most disappointed about is buying into the belief that this hire was going to be different. That we were going to make a statement. Shame on me.

Do any of you think that USF was going to pay $2.45 million for Pearl or $2.6 million for Buzz?  I'm skeptical that we can even afford $2 million a year for a basketball coach.  You guys have an inflated self worth.

Well, if they each went for that much, we can't blame USF. But I'd like to think that USF tried to hire those guys. If you're not even going up to the pretty girls, you might as well not even go to the dance.

 

So, with option #1, the bag of money was pretty big so far. Maybe Amaker is cheaper...

 

But here's my biggest worry. I'm thinking USF hired a firm and then thinks that this is how they should go about things. Our new AD doesn't start till Monday. Sooo... what if we Bulls on here are the only ones even talking about hiring anyone???

Thats my concern. Other schools saw their guy and did what it took to get him. I'm hoping we didn't think we'd get Pearl or Buzz, either or.

YES, and they're short sighted idiots because they didn't.  You get what you pay for in this world, except when you get lucky, very lucky (FGCU etal).  That's the way it is in life as it is in athletics.  I deal with it daily, can you?
