Don't know if they'll give up what they knew, but would be interesting to hear what made several of the local bloggers think USF suddenly had a chance in the last day or two. Rumors seemed to come out of nowhere.

Makes for some extra clicks. If it goes your way, you get to look like you're in the know. If it doesn't, you can just fall back on the excuse that it was long shot rumor.
The most logical scenario.

Some of the people reporting the McCloud stuff were legit, reputable folks. Newberg has repeatedly said "he isn't going to USF" until last night when he caved and said he had heard it from enough reputable sources that there was a legit shot.  I was still pretty skeptical, and also think we'll never know what was really going on behind the scenes, but where there's smoke there's fire.

My thoughts are Dad wanted him at Clemson while McCloud was really intrigued by playing with his family and friends at USF.  In the end, "father knows best".....

From what I gather that's my guess also.

If thats the case that seems like a situation where a transfer down the line wouldn't be out of the question if certain things didn't go right at Clemson.

While he would have been an awesome get, I'm comfortable with our RBs

I know Clemson is plan on playing him at RB, WR and kick returns.

My impression after talking to Ray Ray McCloud III: heart nagged him to go USF, head made sure he made right decision sticking w/Clemson.

Translation:  I would love to represent my hometown if they didn't play garbage teams in a garbage conference, run boring power plays with a spread team, and have no fan support in the Bucs stadium.  If there was anything exciting about USF football at all I would have signed, but there's not so I stuck with Clemson.

Yes but the trolling is neither creative or funny. Apparently when we got relegated the troll quality went down.

I'm not really sensing a troll here .... just another whiny "fan", probably a student around the 2007-2009 time, clueless about the ebb and flow of college football programs.
