Interestingly, I subsequently received an email noting that I was "missing" at the game. I guess it is a new marketing effort intended as a gentle reminder but it came off more as a "shame on you" message. Oh well, I'll take my lumps since I'm a bit of recent bandwagon fan, having only attended USF sporting events for past 42 years. I'll have to step up my game. I thought it was a pretty decent idea to try and get a little more turn out to the next home game. However, I moved to NY and kept a couple of cheap seats in the upper deck to maintain ticket holder status. So, it wont work on me, but I like the idea. Yes, and if it means getting more butts in seats, I'm ok with that.

How do you equate this with Big Brother? The ticket systems are computerized, and they scan the barcode on the ticket when you enter the stadium. They can run a report on who is using their tickets and who is not. This is a good idea, so they know who attend games and who do not. They can market to people who do not use their tickets to find out what they can do to encourage people to go to the games. This is far better than the "I already have your money so who cares if you show up" attitude that some professional and college teams have. I do not think GaUSFBull meant anything by it other than to say that the Athletic Department is watching if you attend games; nothing more, nothing less. Don't you get something like 1/10 of a point, maybe less, on your priorty points total for using your ticket?
