Dude is fierce and likes to hit hard...can't coach that. He is a bit slow however which means he will likely be used as a big run stopper.

He can always improve his speed and agility through certain drills. He seems like a solid prospect and has good size straight out of high school.

 

 

Don't players' times usually get slower as the progress and get bigger and stronger?  Either because the timing is more accurate or just different conditioning goals... see e.g. http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/3/1/4038740/2013-nfl-combine-high-school-40-yard-dash-times

Well, next year we will have Nigel Harris and Cliett on the outside, so speed is not a problem there. Tashon Whitehurst is also a speedy LB. You want a more solid LB in the middle to stop the run especially if you have the luxury of speed from the OLB's

I want someone that can tackle in that Mike position. The kid has the physique, so I'm hoping this staff can coach him up.

Downhill runs up the middle have always been our kryptonite so having a big guy at mike who loves to hit hard will be a welcome addition to our defense.

We used to have a big, hard hitting MLBer, that stuffed the run, made huge plays, and was considered slow.  He worked out pretty well on our defense, always making a play when we needed it.  His name is slipping my mind right now...
