He had his shot; he **** the bed again; so he's on the pine. It ain't personal, it's football. There's no question it wasn't all on him, but there's also no question he played atrociously. Nothing personal, he's just not got close to what it takes to play at a college level. Actually the sad thing is that all offseason he beat the other guys out. How bad must they have been? Fair enough. I don't say kick him when he's down, and if I was his coach if support him and help him learn from this. I'd buy him a beer if I saw him at the bar. But I just wouldn't personally feel bad for him...he's just not cut out to be a game day QB. It's good for everyone--him included--to realize this, come to grips with it, and move on.
