Wasn't the DC part of the Georgia Tech NC squad?

Yes he was, under Bobby Ross, he was an assistant coach

Ancient history. Is college football the same as it was over 20 years ago? And no one mentioned the DC for that team he worked under, George O'Leary.  Just last year UCF game up almost 600 yards to...UAB. O'Leary has been lucky in getting all those great offensive players on UCF, like Brandon Marshall.

Now who is going to say O'Leary is a defensive mastermind because he was the DC for the 1990 GT team that was co-national champs?

^ GOL also got Asante Samuel. Multiple time pro bowler, right there. As well, he got JPP to sign with them out of high school. If he wasn't the dumbest person on the planet (sorry, kid is dumb) and forced to go JUCO, he'd have another NFL superstar under his name.

One went on to coach a super bowl defense. The other coaches a bunch of nobodies.

You forgot who was on that defense. Now if he coached the offense, it would have been impressive because it was the offense that got the Raiders to the Super Bowl, billed as "The Number One Defense (Bucs) vs The Number One Offense (Raiders)."

People said the reason the Bucs won that Super Bowl was because Gruden knew the Raiders schemes. Well that goes both ways doesn't it? The players on the Raiders know what Gruden liked to do and that didn't help them at all.

Raiders defense had

Sam  Adams 3x Pro Bowl and went on to a Super Bowl championship with The Ravens

Bill Romanowski 4 Super Bowls 2 Pro Bowls

Charles Woodson, future HoF. Multiple Super Bowls, Pro Bowls and Defensive Player of The year

Tory James, Pro Bowl, Super Bowl Championship

Rod Woodson, 11 Pro Bowls, HoF, one of the best DBs EVER to play the game. He and Ronnie Lot, most successful CB to safety in NFL history.

And the Bucs shredded that defense.

I'm not thrilled with this hire at all. I expect an average defense this year. I suspect he'll do better than Cosh; mostly because he won't have Skip harping on him to play soft as f#@%.

Evidently you didn't listen to any Skip Holtz press conferences.  After almost every game last year, he talked about how the defense needed to be more aggressive.  You could tell he go personally involved over the last few game and defense blitzed a lot more than early in the season.  Cosh wanted to play soft, Holtz didn't.

Why do you people continue to argue with slick? He never admits he's wrong or changes what he thinks. Regardless of what facts you come up with, he will continue to bang that drum.

Talk about calling the kettle black. :roflmao: The difference in me and you is you physically threaten people that don't agree with you. DEL was just asking a question and I was informing him he was correct. Hardly a request for your opinion of the relevance of his work there.

And did you really just break out a "lucky" argument about something? Really? LOL.

Wasn't insulting you, just stating an obvious observation.

I don't care that people don't agree with me, but the point of a discussion or debate is to take both schools of thought into account. You just wait for your turn to talk to regurgitate the same ideal over and over.

Oh, was DEL asking you specifically?

Do you really think Brandon Marshall would have gone to UCF if it was evident in high school how good he was going to be? His only other offer was UConn and the closest school to him that had a football program was UCF. Or Kevin Smith. He is from Miami, FL and besides UCF his only other offer was Akron. Either UCF has some outstanding recruiters or got lucky with some unranked recruits that had no other local offers and went with the college closest to them. So its either luck or they have some incredible recruiters. Which do you think, Mr. Football?

You mean like how many times you've come into the thread and said the same thing about me? Put it this way, when you post something, no one is surprised by your stand you are so predictable. And when have you admitted you were wrong about anything vs threatening violence when its questioned?
