Wow. Can't be that long. Time does fly. I was in the basement of the Engineering Building. remember it like it was yesterday. You? I was studying in my room at Fontania Hall. This was back in the pre-pre-internet days when the 'fast' circuit was 2400 baud. Interestingly, overseas you're considerably disconnected from events in the US - focused mostly on the mission at hand - but this was a huge event, with lots of coverage in the Austrian press. I was about to take a power nap in the parking lot of the Engineering Building. A bunch of people came running out, looking at the sky. Was my first look at a launch from that close so didn't really realize what I was looking wasn't normal from that angle. Learned what happened at my next sales call ....
