Yeah, don't think we are getting through Florida...their pitcher is as good as ours and their bats are much better...perhaps they will suffer some suspensions like they did last year!

Very few girls can pitch like Nevins. And even fewer teams have a Bullpen like we do.

I do recall Erikson pulling some of his scientist magic out during last year's post season, alternating pitchers the best he could to throw as many looks at the other team as possible. And it worked out until we got into the CWWS, which is nothing to sneeze at. Hell, We did really well against Oklahoma, until they had that like 3-4 run inning in the middle of the game.

Not sure what Kenny has up his sleeve right now, but we honestly don't have the hitting to get through UF this season in the regionals - asking Nevins to be perfect against UF twice is beyond reasonable. We need any type of hitting we can get and UF to play error filled softball. UF has great hitters and their pitching is slightly better than ours (our SOS was terrible this season for those that are wondering). We were not a lock for the tourney until we beat the 'Ville in the semi-finals the other day. The SEC was deserving of the 11 teams that made it into the tournament. Most people on here don't pay attention to softball, but think of the 11 SEC teams as comparable to the 9th place UConn team that won the National Championship in hoops two seasons ago. They barely survived the Big East schedule, but were good enough to have a solid run in the NCAA tourney to win it all. This year's regional is way tougher than anything we saw in last year's tourney - just my opinion. If Kenny can find a way to get these girl's to the Super's this season, they will need to build a statue in his honor (he already deserves one IMO).

Important to note after some of the questions is that all of the seeded teams are in the same bracket locations and the remaining teams are defacto seeded as well. The brackets don't list those seedings but if you look at our bracket

by RPI FL is No 2, USF is no. 37 Ga Southern is no 73 and  mighty Hampton is no. 191. So FL plays Hampton in the first game and USF takes on Ga Southern. So you have highest seed playing lowest and Nos. 2 &3 playing each other. Kind of points out how ridiculous it is to have the MidEastern Conference Champion in the NCAA tourney though. Hampton is in the tourney after losing 24 games to such powerhouses as Norfolk state, IPFW, Bradley and Elon College. Big wins for Hampton include Coppin State, Maryland Eastern Shore, NC A&T and Savannah State. Kind of makes you grateful to have been playing in the BE and now the AAC. I mean who has ever heard of any of those schools.

Don't think the regionals are double elimination based on the bracket posted. Double elimination only kicks in at the Supers

Each level is double elimination. So it is possible to lose a total of 4 games in the post season and still win the whole thing.

Regionals: 4-team, double-elimination bracket

Super Regionals: Best of 3 series

WCWS: 4-team, double-elimination, "cross-over" bracket

Championship Series: Best of 3
