The Bucs did not destroy the Raiders bc the Bucs offense destroyed the Raiders defense.  Read any post game interviews with the Bucs or watch their DVD of that season and they talk about how Gruden actually went under center in practice and played Gannon to a tee down to his mannerisms!  That resulted in 5, count em, 5 interceptions which were returned for over 170 yards!  The lock down coverage also resulted in 5 sacks!  The Raiders got obliterated bc they had ZERO OFFENSE.   http://www.footballd...core/2003012601

The Bucs passed for 215 yards!  lol  Yeah Pittman ran for a decent game, but that's bc the defense was emotionally gutted by the offenses play and LIVED on the field as evidenced by the TOP.

Your take on that game is way off Slick.

You people are unreal. This is USF, not Alabama. We are now in a shiz conference with a shiz record and 2 consecutive years of missed bowls. We have an NFL DC coming to be our DC who has a ton of experience and a decent track record. Expectations here are so unrealistic.

I expected our guy brought in to be a reach.

I wanted an "up and comer" who's won in the past, ideally with local ties.

The LB coach from Stanford fit that bill: young, hungry guy, involved in winning program, gets a shot to make a name for himself and apply what he's learned. Higher risk, high reward scenario. Was hoping CWT could find someone to mitigate the risk portion.

Instead we got an old man, with no recruiting ties anywhere, who isn't much of a winner. Moderate risk, low reward scenario.

I've got no problem with Bresnahan. I personally do not have, and doubt the majority of those complaining have, the coaching experience to creditably criticize this hire.

Of course, I'm not sure how many stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night. :D

Coach T. This is your fan base. Enjoy!

If he could have Woodson come in and talk, that would be incredible.

This DC has Aaron Lynch, Todd Chandler and Ryne Giddins on the line,  I think he'll do well with these 3 players this year.

Disgusting that that douchebag still has a source within USF ....

Agreed. And whoever is feeding that douchebag information is also a douchebag.

I am happy with this hire.  The play on the field will be the determining factor.  This quote means a lot "Our motto is to be physical relentless and intelligent".  This is something that I have seen with USF's defense since '97.  It has been missing lately.  This is an NFL DC coming to USF.  The NFL is on a totally higher level than college.

Of course, we can have Cosh/Holtz back, or something like that and we can hear quotes of "We competed, We tried".  F that; I would rather have a guy with intensity.  He even looks like a guy with this intensity.

It's a small community and I'm sure someone could find out.... I'd love to see his source asked "politely" to STFU.... Call Aumen if you can't keep your mouth shut... At least he cares about USF

He graduated from the naval academy so he should bring intensity and discipline.  Something this defense has lacked

since Holtz came here.

I can't wait for the spring game!!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
