Any "luster" was Fools Gold to begin with. All that matters is how all these moves translate to the field and what's produced there ... Park the ******* bus until September.

Have you done any homework on the guy? Or did you just see that he was the Raiders DC and the Bengals DC and figured that he must suck and now want to trash him? Let's also not forget here, we aren't Alabama. We are USF and we are currently attached to a falling apart Big East Conference. With that being said:

Oakland Raiders DC from 2000-2003. In 2000, 2001, and 2002 the Raiders made the playoffs and won their division.

Bengals DC from 2005-2007. In 2005, the Bengals were Division champions.

In 2011, returned to the Raiders. They were 8-8 that year.

Before his NFL work, he was an assistant coach at Navy and Georgia Tech.

Dude, pretty sure 2 of those years the raiders had a top 10 defense in the NFL. Dude.

2000 Raiders Def. 9th

2001 Raiders Def. 19th

2002 Raiders Def. 6th

2003 Raiders Def. 25th

So first it was all offense and no defense, and now it's one guy who made them a top 10 defense. I'm sure the D Coordinator just sat there with his thumb up his ass for 4 years. Keep reaching for those straws, Dude. How about you admit you're wrong for a change, dude.

Dang ... Hem vs. Reefster in one thread and Hem vs. slick in another thread ... people are getting pretty pugilistic lately.

Dude. The Raiders were a force back then due to Gruden being the coach and Rich Gannon at QB. Nothing to do with the defense, it was all offense. Matter of fact, the Super Bowl in Jan 2003 was billed as the team with the best offense in the NFL, the Raiders, vs the best defense in the NFL, the Bucs. The Bucs destroyed the Raiders.   It was so lop sided that I have NFL rewind and they don't  even have that game in their Super Bowl Archives to watch. The Bengals were the same way with Carson Palmer, Chad Johnson, and TJ Whose Your Momma.  You probably don't remember all this because you were wet nursing. :P

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
