Exactly ... Regarding the positives listed, might as well add his accomplishments at ECU. FIRE HOLTZ !!!

Did you happen to catch Dad's comments the other night? I mean, being a head coach is one of those jobs with no wiggle room. If next year doesn't pan out - for whatever reasons - he knows he's gonna be asked to leave. I mean, is he relying on watered down BE competition to lift the boat? 'Cause it's only a matter of time before the discussion shifts to taking the team to the 'next level' and how do we apply metrics for that? What if his competency level resides with CUSA? If there are aspirations of moving to a power conference, is this the guy who can move USF in that direction? Just askin...?

C-USA coaches are offensive minded and run and gun types. A defense that plays soft and waits for mistakes to be made is cognizable because many mistakes are made in the course of a C-USA game. This mentality generally doesn't work in the higher ranks of college football as defense wins championships and the quarterbacks are much better and don't make as many mistakes. If we move back to a C-USA type conference, I think he has as good of a shot as any of winning the conference because hey, everyone plays sloppy defensiveless football! Have no idea if be is responsible for that or if if was fortuitous timing. Seems like we had less guys academically ineligible to enroll however than the years under CJL But the state of USF's defense under Holtz is reason enough to fire. We used to be good at defense now we are awful. How can that happen this fast?
