Can the season be salvaged? Yes, but very unlikely. We have played terrible through 4 games, have two back to back loses (one an upset and demoralizing), and we will now have another humiliating loss against FSU (making 3 straight loses). Humiliating because there is no doubt in my mind they will run up the score against us for the smack down we gave them in their house a couple of years back. I pray that we get out of this game without any major injuries...FSU will put the hurt on.

The season can be salvaged but it won't. The defense is so bad I don't see us winning more than 3 conference games. And we won't beat FSU or Miami either. So that will mean another season without a bowl game. Sucks.

and not sure exactly what sort of emotional toll Saturday is going to extract from the team (I'm just not

Salvaged...depending on how the word is applied; in that "can we avoid losing all of the rest of the games"? Sure.

Now if you meant for salvaged to translate into "turn into a winning season", gonna have to vote no on that one.

Yes, the season can be salvaged. UCONN in 2010 started out 3-4 with a loss to Temple, and 0-2 in conference play. They ended up in the Fiesta Bowl. It's a long shot, but it can happen.

virginia tech lost to james madison and then won the ACC with a record of 11-2.

USF needs to be no worse than 7-5 at the end of the season. It can still happen, but there should be blood if it doesn't. Unfortunately It's hard to see only 3 losses down the stretch especially considering we're staring down the barrel of one in 6 days.
