The year before? 49-16. Compare that with Holtz's three games: a one-point win an overtime loss and a loss where the game was tied with 3 minutes to play ... Not saying program's in a good place, but USF hasn't done well against Rutgers since the first time USF played them in 2005. schiano is gone. no excuses for this loss and the way we let another lead slip away. Same defense though, not a whole new system. with our coaching experience, and a lead in the 4th, in rjs, we should have won that game. pathetic loss. This. +1 Now that we know Woolard's contract it sounds like one big boondoggle! I mean we pay Holtz all this money and extend the contract and he has not deserved it. We also increase pay of the assistants and they are not held accountable in any way.

But Leavitt got more out of the players. IMO neither Leavitt nor Holtz have done a good job at developing players on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe true, but way not play all of the newly created depth. Didn't see it against Rutgers.

Just in different positions than before. I don't see much depth at running back or QB. I don't see the same depth at LB or DB as we used to see. I say depth at TE is about the same as what we have had in the past. We haven't used the position anyway. Jury is still out. The places I see us deep are at WR and DL. There are a lot of bodies at OL. Let's see how they develop.
