We let their QB have way to much. Defense did step up when they had to in the fourth quarter.

I'm not sure we ever stopped Nevada. They stopped themselves. That is why it was so frustrating. Our D Line was gassed by the end of the first quarter and couldn't touch Fajardo all day. Aside from the two fumbles I don't really recall any positive plays on Defense until the final play. Nevada probably could have put 50 on us without the drops and penalties. We couldn't stop them from moving the chains at all. It reminded me alot of that pathetic Pitt game from last year.

I think that's how a lot of the Nevada fans feel, but when you look at the game subjectively most would probably agree they started off hot and once we got familiar (took too long) with their O we did a decent job and our O kicked into high gear in the 4th Q with top tier WR talent. If we keep that energy/enthusiasm going our O is going to be dangerous.

I think our offense stopped itself a lot more than Nevada stopped itself. Drops, passes off the mark, Mitchell not having a good sense of boundaries all kept our offense in check on â€unforced errors†while Nevada was derailed after the first quarter by turnovers, penalties and a few stands by the defense.

Also, from a pure luck perspective, that first Nevada TD on the fumble is much more likely to end in a USF touchback than a Nevada TD. The way the ball bounces after a fumble is pure luck as there's not a style for effective fumbling.

Nevada DBs are slow.

Don't expect to see as many big plays against RU....

Our defense gutted out a win in less than ideal conditions. Far from perfect, but made big plays when big plays were needed. Nevada is very impressive on offense.

Nevada going for it on all those 4th and short didn't help our defense either.

I'm watching it right now and our defense needs a lot of work... they got pushed around waaay too much given the talent we have in it.

As far as the offense goes... the O-line is in need of work like always, and BJD is horribly inaccurate on short passes...

I'm surprised at how much playing time Hamilton got on the DL. That altitude is no joke.

I was one of the first to say the altitude would be BS, but I recant that now after watching our guys suck O2
