I thought BJ was having a very difficult time hitting Hopkins yesterday. Personally, I didn't think he was the right guy to have running the curl patterns when we needed first downs on the last couple of drives. I prefer to see him on the deep ball or maybe on some of the little dump off plays they were trying to create for Lamar last year.

With the injury to Griffin does Hopkins become more of a target or sort of a decoy?

Will we get to see any more of a role for Montgomery? Maybe similar to what they did with Davis last year?

Any thoughts?

With his lack of size, and BJ's lack of height to see over the middle really, I'd prefer to see Hopkins really sticking to bubble screens and end arounds and that sort of thing, and then of course the occasional deep ball.

Side note, I don't know if anybody else noticed during the game, but on one of BJ's scrambles, Hop put a linebacker on his ass blocking for him. Love to see that kind of feistiness out of someone his size.

QFT.

I like Hopkins as a player and he does have ability but I'd much rather have size and speed then just speed lined up at WR. Coaches need to design some good plays that utilize his speed but don't ask for him to do plays that work against his height disadvantage.

One of the biggest things I walked away with from the UTC game was Hopkins speed... he can get separation almost every play.

I like Welch running curls. Hopkins should be utilized on screens, imho. Kid could be lethal if this coaching staff really utilized him more in open field situations. I just hope he holds onto the ball once he gets his mits on it and gets popped by the opposing team; he's undersized.

Hopkins is a nice change of pace but not a starter. I would love to see our TEs line up wide. Our bubble screens would be more effective and they would also cause some match up problems. Price needs to be a little more involved.

Hopkins has some development needs, he ran out of bounds on one pass.

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
