Monopoly? colusion monopoly I think it would become a government issue if ESPN killed off a MAJOR conference. NCAA is tax exempt and i don't think they should be. At this point it is a full blown business.

But it's funny to see how clueless WVU fan is. Why would you want USF? Why wouldn't you want one of the biggest TV markets in the US? Then again, I need to remember that was a WVU board. The FL presence for the Big 12 is certainly viable.

Our football program may not be as developed, and we are probably less popular. But, long-term, Tampa provides a better media market for exposure, than Tallahassee. Eyeballs and actual viewers ... no. (don't get me wrong, I'd love to be called up to the big leagues, but I just don't see it right here, unless there really is an ESPN conspiracy afoot.) The FL presence for the Big 12 is certainly viable. Having a presence in Florida is huge. The size of its natural population base (within the footprint) is the Big 12 conference's biggest weakness, and it will need to compensate for the SEC getting the second most popular team in its core state (Texas). I don't think USF will actually be admitted into another major conference, either. But, that notwithstanding, the Big 12 really should add somebody from Florida.
