I don't feel half as bad today as I did after the Pitt loss.

We know know we are not a great team, and we will lose more games.

It is just a question of how many.

The first one is always the hardest.....

This loss is worse for me than Pitt.  I was very optimistic heading in to this season.  I thought we might have turned a corner as a program.  Skip's second year...BJ not changing OCs.  We had some good road wins last year towards the end including the bowl game.

Offense seemed better even though it was against lesser teams.  More skilled players (Scott, Love, Griffin, Welch, etc) coming back.

Then we laid an egg at Pitt on Thursday night.  I wrote it off to a short week. players sick, yada yada yada.

I thought for sure with 16 days off and facing UConn which had just lost to Western Michigan and WVU  and had given up like 500 yards through the air that this would be a statement game.  Well it was.  The statement was made.....We suck!  What a kick to the jewels.

Rome wasn't built in a day.  It takes time to build depth and quality.  It will happen, but we aren't going to be a 12 win team for a while.

The football team itself has made us this way, it's completely their fault.  It's all those early season wins at Auburn, Florida State, ND, etc.  that get our hopes up, only to cause them to crash by laying an egg in BE play.  This football team is sadistic to its fans.

i feel better with each loss; my expectations drop faster than our winning record percentage.

We're at the same overall record I thought we would have after 6 games, but I did not have UConn as a loss. Certainly stings more than the Pitt game does.

We never should have lost to UConn, this year or last.  If someone told me in 2009 that we'd lose the next two to UConn and they would never score an offensive TD in either game, I'd have laughed in their faces.

I sure don't get the thought process that each loss gets easier to take.  I certainly did not expect us to win them all but expected us to compete in Big East.  Each loss is worse than the one before because there are more losses and it becomes more apparent our conference fate is again sealed. If I felt each additional loss was less upsetting I would just give up.  Hope nobody on the team feels that way.
