I was watching some of the Butler-ODU games in Washinton DC, and they had the "G" for Georgetown where our "U" is. Its whatever.

So, I see that USF is "hosting" the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the tourney this week.  What does USF get out of letting the business leaders use the USF name to get the tournament here in Tampa?  So far, I just see "hosted by USF" on the billboards. No iconic bull or other logos anywhere.  You would think the school would want greater exposure and push the logo/image of the school even if the tourney isn't on campus.

anyone have any insight?

usf has been terrible pr and marketing athletics

This has little to do with USF PR or Marketing.  Its the NCAA, and our staff is the man power.

You really don't have much of a clue how much the NCAA controls things regarding this, do you?

I'm down here at the Forum today. USF staff all over the place, and there's a small USF logo on all the signage in the media and interview areas. Not a huge exposure, but good for the university to be involved in something like this.

There were USF logs on the banners in the patio outside the Forum and the banner under the media guys across from the benches, away from the cameras, had USF listed as host ... don't know if the banner on the opposite side was tha same.

Noticed Doug Woolard at the press table next to Calipari and Bill McGillis in back of the WVU bench.  Must have something to do with us "hosting".  Interesting to see how intently Doug watched Calipari.  Couldn't tell if it was respect, disgust or just what he was thinking.  But he was focused on him.

Who cares about HOSTING. It is lame and has little or NO impact on our program. Don't give me this PR bullcrap as hours after the Tampa regionals are over no one is going to say "hey, USF did a great job hosting". It is all BS plain and simple.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
