So, I see that USF is "hosting" the 2nd and 3rd rounds of the tourney this week.  What does USF get out of letting the business leaders use the USF name to get the tournament here in Tampa?  So far, I just see "hosted by USF" on the billboards. No iconic bull or other logos anywhere.  You would think the school would want greater exposure and push the logo/image of the school even if the tourney isn't on campus.

anyone have any insight?

Not really answering the question, but adding an observation.  Over the years, the NCAA has really phased out the host idea. I remember when the games used to be played on the school's/conference's court and the NCAA put their logo sticker on it somewhere. Now the NCAA brings in their own courts and the school/conference logo gets shoved in the corner on the sideline.  I wish they would go back to using the school courts; it added some uniqueness to the games.

I'm down here at the Forum today. USF staff all over the place, and there's a small USF logo on all the signage in the media and interview areas. Not a huge exposure, but good for the university to be involved in something like this.

I volunteered thru the NCAA. I wanted to get in thru USF but couldn't find a source. I did get Michigan State's team hotel to sit and greet in. Pretty darn boring. The few people I did talk to know that we're coming in 2013 for a football game.

The host school can't play at the host site. That's why UF loves for us to do the hosting in Tampa. If we were ever good on a year that the Forum was hosting we would be shipped off to timbuktoo or someplace.

Like I said.

And the baselines say "Tampa Bay" and "St Pete Times Forum".

Its more about the NCAA than the host.

They used to use the home courts; wish they would go back to that.
