They were in the HOT equiptment repair room in the new School of Music. I doubt they're there anymore, since the building opened last monday.

Hotbull, thanks for posting.

Looks like a new entrance on the north side?  Maybe the student entrance, with the main non student entrance on each side of The Muma?

On that middle sketch, I can't figure out what the "structure" or "landscape feature" is on the east side of the dome.  You can clearly see the chiller plant on the west side.

The SunDome IS a convocation center

A convocation center is a multi-purpose arena.  Concerts, graduation, special events, etc. besides basketball.

To the east of the SunDome is the loading/unloading center for the arena (including supplies/equipment/etc.)  The roadway actually goes down a level to the basement.  The landscape is actually the raised (ground) level around this entrance.

USF approves financing for $35 million Sun Dome renovation

By Greg Auman, Times Staff Writer

In Print: Tuesday, March 8, 2011

TAMPA — The Sun Dome, home to USF's basketball programs and many concerts and community events for 30 years, could be weeks away from a $35 million renovation, a long-overdue makeover the university is expecting to triple the arena's annual revenues from last year.

"We're very excited to give it a facelift; the Sun Dome is a huge facility, and this is a big project," said Mark Walsh, USF's assistant vice president for government relations. "Once this is completed, we'll be able to do a lot more with it."

USF approved its plan and financing for the $35 million project — $8.5 million will be paid with cash reserves, with the remainder financed over 20 years — with the hopes of extending the arena for "an additional 30 years." What remains is approval March 24 at a Tallahassee meeting of the Board of Governors, which must approve any major project for the state's public universities.

BTW, this is a major move.  It took years just to get the state to even discuss us being able to name the SunDome because the SunDome is a state facility, not a USF facility.  I do hope at some point after we put these renovations into the facility the state will look at as more of a USF facility and give us carte blanche to make decisions on it exclusively.

So can athletics release some renderings now that USF has approved the funding?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
