Both would then begin a hard lobbying campaign for all-sports later, and neither are desirable candidates.Nothing is going to happen until the football schools convince tha basketball schools to extend all-sports invites. There will be another Big East meeting before any news comes out.

See, I can name a bunch of teams that shouldn't be candidates that would accept football only memberships 8-)

Basically it tells the BE, you want us, you get ALL of us.

Cow Pie Posted November 9, 2010 Group: Member Topic Count: 0 Content Count: 7,693 Reputation: 35 Days Won: 2 Joined: 09/04/2008 Share Posted November 9, 2010 Well the ball is in the Big East's arena... now its up to the Big East to decide if that ball is a football or a basketball.TCU clearly wants in, if they were in the Big East now then they would easily be #2 or #1, but since they are a non BCS school they are getting shafted by those looking to protect the BCS system. This is a no brainer, if the Big East wants to survive then their best shot in the interim is to ditch DePaul and add TCU.No way does the Big East stand a chance in hell at fighting off the Big10 this summer if they add weak teams for the sake of saving basketball, like Nova and Temple. Heck they would not even get ECU, UCiF, or Memphis to join with a football only invite. The only way adding Nova, Memphis, UCiF, Temple, or ECU makes sense is if its in conjunction with TCU coming on board. Its sink or swim time.
