Pay schmay.....that is un-American. What we should do is take out a loan against it......build something bigger and then default on the whole thing....and then hire a lawyer to drag out the process in court.  ;D

With all the money that is going to be spent on facility upgrades the answer to your question is quite easy.

Answer: Not in our lifetime

All of it depends on the light rail in my opinion... if it passes then we will never get a stadium because one of the proposed tracks is supposed to go to Ray Jay and you can get there from USF. Also if this passes then it will kill the market for a USF Strip of Bars, the train would go to Ybor and Channelside so why bother.

If it fails then we will eventually get a stadium and a strip of bars, one day in the future.

The construction is from March 2011 thru Nov 2011. Very little chance of having to play games anywhere else.

I voted for it. Hope it passes.

I wonder were they would play until it is done.  You know these projects never get done on time.

They could play at the Ice Palace.

Beacause it worked out so well last time they tried to play a basketball game there ::)

I doubt this would happen.  If they had to play 3 or more home games there it would be way too expensive for USF to pay for rent and the floor changeover during hockey season.  My money would be on the old fairgrounds arena since nothing happens there any more, they could put down a floor and then just keep it down for as long as needed with dirt cheap rent.

Here is the link:  http://usfweb2.usf.edu/facilitiesplan/Projects/FAW_537_AE.pdf

Since it has a project number and it's on the USF procurement page they must feel confident that the funding will be there.

Sure looks like the real deal, with submittal dates and all, but I'll start rejoicing when I see an official announcement ...

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
