when we start putting guys in the NBA we will be fine

dont know when that will be but its going to take the new facilities and guys going to the next level to attract good talent.

How do you put guys in the NBA if you can't recruit any talent?  If we were putting guys in the NBA we wouldn't have arguments about basketball recruiting at USF.

What about Lavonte Dority? Am I missing something here?

Rated #305 in the class of 2010.

That's pretty **** good given the circumstances. No money, no facilities (I'm sure recruits are real impressed when you tell them about practices in the campus rec center), very little tradition, tepid fan support, etc. By the way, how highly rated was DoJo when he showed up?

You're starting to sound like the smazza of basketball wondering where our McDonald's All-American recruits are.

and you are starting to sound like you dont care when you think its ok to be excited about getting a guy ranked 305 in a conference that gets numerous top 50 guys.

but you'll blame the system and facilities instead of the guy getting paid the big bucks to complete the task of consistently building a competitive program.

if you dont have facilities and money, sell the weather and campus.  if you dont have tradition sell playing time.  We have a lot more going for us than you excuse makers like to believe.

That would be a great argument if there wasn't compelling evidence that the coach is probably NOT the major problem .....

We do need one major get. Fitz is real happy with that cutie he came out to the rec with last week. Gotta sell the sun and the hot girls.

USF does have a disproportional amount of HOT chic. If I can grab one anybody can.

compelling evidence and probably NOT?  doesnt sound too compelling.

its the easy excuse.  I cant see Butlers basketball facilities being all that great.

Seth had better success before coming here and after leaving ... Stan had better success, so far, before coming here ... Doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see where the problem probably is.

The weather and campus?  How do you sell that to kids that want to win, and want to get pro contracts either in the NBA or Europe?  That's not an automatic selling point by any stretch, that's ancillary to the primary focuses of winning, fan support, and a program that is capable of perhaps making them better and sending them to a pro career.  That's what you have to be able to sell to get the nation's top 200 players year-in, and year-out.

Heath has proven he can recruit when given the tools, and even when he doesn't have the tools, like at USF, he's proven he can cull together a competitive team through transfers, and re-treds.  But in the BE that's not going to win you 20 games year-in and year-out.  The facilities must get built, and he needs a bigger budget for better assistants.  I understand the desire to blame the coach, but not in this situation.

The problem vega brings up is this class is going to send us back a few years unless we can suddenly recover.  Waverly Austin, and Dority are not even the best players on their teams at their respective positions.  We've got to recover quickly, or we're going to be spending time recovering from the losses this year.
